Brooklyn, NY – The ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's lacrosse team restarts their program after a 2-year hiatus against Jefferson CC in a home game at Aviator Sports Complex.
The Avengers started off their season with minimal practice under their belts. In the first quarter, the Avengers spotted the Jefferson Cannoneers 4 goals before making a switch at the goalie position. The first ended 0-5 to the Cannoneers. In the 2nd quarter, the Avengers found their personnel and bounced back to end the half 3-7. After a promising 2nd quarter, the Avengers did not capitalize in the 3rd quarter and spotted the Cannoneers a few more goals. The game eventually ended 17-7, with a win for the Cannoneers.
"The game ball goes to Shel Herring," said men's lacrosse head coach Christopher Tempone. "He won 28 out of 31 face-offs. Offensively, when we got Brendan Szabo and Zachery Dillon going, we heated up. Our goalie, Pierre Eliacin also had 13 saves. Defensively, we found our personnel in the 2nd quarter. We just need to keep improving on our timing. I was impressed with our effort for the entire 60 minutes. Although it didn't go the way we wanted it to in the scoreboard, we definitely have things to take away from the game."
The ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's lacrosse plays their next game also at home against Finger Lakes CC at Aviator Sports Complex on March 19th 2019 at 6:45 pm.
