ASA Brooklyn Avengers Men's Basketball Scores Triple Digits in Win Over Lackawanna Falcons

Brooklyn, NY – The ASA College Brooklyn Avengers men's basketball team returns to action after a mid-season break to play at home against NJCAA Region XV Rivals, the Lackawanna Falcons.

The Avengers played with two missing starters, including their top three-point shooter, Denzel Cooper.  However, the Avengers opened the game with a pair of quick three's.  The Avengers was unable to capitalize on the momentum as the Avengers only led by 1 at the end of the first half.  The Falcons managed to grab the lead early in the second half, however a number of crucial three's and jump shots gave the Avengers a double digit lead.  With the Falcons running a 7-man rotation, they were unable to get the lead back down to single digits after playing heavy minutes.  The Avengers won the game 102-94, the highest scoring game this season.

"We were sluggish on defense after a 30 day lay-off," said Avengers men's basketball head coach, Devonne Martinez.  "We're happy to get the victory, however there are a number of things for us to work on after this game.  We need to get better on our defensive rotations and playing together as a team.  We're looking forward to bigger and better things from this group."

The ASA College Brooklyn Avengers plays their next game at home against Genesee Community College at 1 pm January 12th at Achievement First High School.
